Departure Time

9:00 AM
Start your 3-hour private Tallinn tour with a pickup from your central hotel or the cruise port. Settle inside your air-conditioned vehicle with your private guide, and set off to explore the modern and old sides of the Estonian capital. If there’s something you want to see more of, simply tell your guide; your tour is private, so the itinerary can be tailored around you.

Drive through Kadriorg, a beautiful, leafy neighborhood dotted with 19th-century villas and centered around a palace and park. See the elegant baroque palace and rose gardens, and learn how they were built for Russia’s Catherine I by her husband Peter the Great in the early 1700s.

Continue to the beachfront Pirita area and view the Song Festival Grounds, where Estonians celebrate their love of singing with a national song festival, held every five years. Hear how singing is a central part of the Estonian national identity, and learn how it has played a key part in the country’s struggles for independence since the 1900s.

Next, head into the Old Town for a stroll around the city’s picture-perfect medieval district. Stretch your legs as you delve into the cobbled squares and lanes, and discover the lovely landmarks of this UNESCO-listed enclave.

Admire the Gothic Old Town Hall and Old Town Square, and climb up Toompea Hill. On route, see highlights such as the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, and soak up the stunning hillside views over the medieval town’s spires, rooftops and turrets.

After three hours, your tour ends when your guide says goodbye in the Old Town, leaving you to sightsee or shop independently. Alternatively, request a transfer back to your hotel or the cruise port.

Our guide had a beautiful voice, and sang for us at the choir amphitheater. She also altered the tour and took us to a synagogue. Unfortunately she was also constantly on her cell phone trying to arrange more tours for her and her colleagues

We are very sorry to hear that, but this is a very popular tour in Tallinn and Maive is our most experienced guide and a coordinator and especially on this day she was covering for a different guide and also had to deal with problem at the cruise port. It was the first time such a thing occured and we are deeply sorry for that.

Ok Tour

The tour guide was knowledgeable and spoke spanish decently, the tour met the expectations but nothing amazing. The only bad part but I also take blame is that the tour does not take you back to the ship and we had to purchase other accomodations, checked viator and dropoff was excluded so I should have noticed, but either way all private car tours I have been on have drop off included, this one did not.

We are very sorry to hear your dissapointment, but we mostly offer this tour only in English and can arrange a Spanish speaking guide if asked well in advance/which you did not/ it was just an extra skill of the guide that you had that spoke Spanish, we do not also offer the return transport as only the first part of the tour is done with a car as the other part is in the old town centre/where cars have no access/ if clients wish to go back to the ship its only a 10min walk or our guide can arrange a taxi which only costs 5eur and its much cheaper if the car was waiting for them/this way the price of the tour would be much higher

The historic area of Tallin is small and easily explored on your own. I prefer getting a guide wherever we travel since it gives us a more in-depth view. In this case the guide, while knowledgeable, was very disjointed in her presentation style and hard to follow. We all walked away feeling that we could have done just as well on our own.

This tour was a splendid opportunity to get a quick overview of Tallinn. My guide was an experienced guider, born in Tallinn and knew its history well. She was able to regale me with stories of growing up under the Soviet regime and explain how Estonia developed her identity becoming the country it is today. The places we visited were key to Tallinn's development as a city and it provided me with a much better understanding of both the people and the history of this remarkable city. I recommend that you take this tour at the beginning of your stay as it is an ideal platform from which to base your own wanderings and explorations.

Tallinn is a beautiful place to visit. Our party of 6 enjoyed this private tour as it gave us the opportunity to ask questions and the flexibility to stop/shop when we wanted to. The guide and driver were thoughtful and really informative. We were picked up from the cruise port and stayed in the city for lunch after our tour finished as it was only a 15 minute walk back to the cruise ship. We would highly recommend this tour as it met and often exceeded our expectations. The tour description is accurate and great value for money.
