Please note that Nicetravel offers free pickup and drop off from hotels within Reykjavik. As buses are not allowed to drive in certain areas of Reykjavik centre, your pick up may be from the nearest bus stop. After receiving your pickup information, we will notify you of your exact pick up location. If you do not require hotel pickup, you can meet the tour at Nicetravel office in Fiskislóð 45M, 101 Reykjavik. Please notify Nicetravel directly if you intend to use this option and be there before 08:30. Pickup takes place between 08:30 - 09:00, so please be ready from 8:30 at your pickup location and look out for a bus with NICE travel logos.
Begin your full-day tour with pickup from your hotel in the Reykjavik area between 830am and 9am. Meet your guide and small group of no more than 19, and settle inside your comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle.

Then, set out into Iceland’s stark countryside on your 11-hour tour. On route, listen to intriguing facts about the country, hearing about its history, geology, and culture from your guide.

Head into UNESCO-listed Thingvellir National Park, one of Iceland’s famous Golden Circle sights. Learn how it lies within a belt of volcanic activity, and is home to the mid-Atlantic ridge, where the tectonic plates of North America and Eurasia face each other over a valley. Walk between the plates as you hear how they are gradually moving further apart, and savor the experience of straddling the two continents.

Take a detour from the Golden Circle to visit the Kerid (Kerið) crater, a 3,000-year-old crater filled with a lake. Peer into the 180-foot (55-meter) deep hollow, and admire the magical-looking blue lake cradled by the red- and green-colored slopes.

Visit the Geysir geothermal area, exploring the surreal-looking landscapes on foot. View the bubbling ponds and steam vents, and see the Geysir and Strokkur geysers, the latter shooting water up to 98 feet (30 meters) every five to 10 minutes.

Stop at the Gulfoss Waterfall, taking in this beautiful 105-foot (32-meter) fall, and then continue to Iceland’s famous Blue Lagoon, a geothermal spa surrounded by lava-sculpted countryside.

Head inside (own expense, with pre-booking of your admission ticket required) and change into your bathing suit. Then, enjoy a long soak in the warm, therapeutic waters, lying back in the steam and admiring the lava fields as you bathe.

After about two hours here, your tour finishes with a hotel drop-off in Reykjavik.

Unfortunately, my Don was terribly ill during the day of the trip so we didn't attend the tour. Viator refused to refund us. I would stay away from purchasing any excursions through Viator. The next day we rented a vehicle and were able to visit the Golden Circle, Volcano Crator, Blur Lagoon and the Secret Lagoon for 1/3 of the price then what the Viator tour would've cost us. Please do not trust Viator and their advertisement. Rent a vehicle and go as you please with no restrictions. The Golden Circle and the Valcano Crator dint cost anything. The secret lagoon is better and much cheaper.

Super cool trip with a comfortable van and really nice and fun guide named Vlad. We were able to see so much in just one day including waterfalls, geysir, national park, crater and then enjoying the blue lagoon relaxation. There was enough time to visit and take pics during each stop and there were many opportunities for coffee, bathroom and meals during the trip. Friendly atmosphere and spectacular views. I’d highly recommend it as it’s a must-have trip in Iceland especially if you’re not staying long in Iceland.

Best way to see the incredible sights AND a few memorable detours

We had an incredible day with Gulli leading us on this trip! Not only did we see the wonders of the Golden Circle - majestic sights! - but he also made sure to take a few detours and get us some extra sightseeing. We ate ice cream at a dairy farm, got to pet a few icelandic horses and saw a few extra views we didn't anticipate. And we learned a ton about the country's history and geography along the way. We can't recommend this tour highly enough! And if you're really lucky, you'll get to have Gulli as your tour guide!!!

We had a fantastic time! Pickup was on time, our guide Jonas was amazing, and the rest of our group was friendly as we all enjoyed seeing the sights on the Golden Circle tour! Jonas even fit in a couple of extra stops and shared his stories of growing up on Iceland - that’s what makes a great trip!

The inability to hear what our driver/guide was saying. The trip of 11 hours was better done without the add on of the Blue Lagoon. Otherwise the stops of the Golden Circle were impressive interesting/impressive.
