Kevin had a nice day planned in advance. We visited 3 very different wineries across different AVAs. We'd expected 4 or 5 wineries, less driving, and more of a 'tour', but overall it was a nice day and better than driving ourselves.

Good but pricy

The car ride with the incredible views of the valley was amazing for us. Only issue I had was the tour is a little over priced since the tastings are expensive in them selves.

Intimate expletive with a very knowledgeable guide

Very intimate experience, not for the anti social! We did 3 wineries with tastings and all were very low key. It was a very educational experience and the wine was great/lunch was awesome. You end up socializing quite a bit with the other groups by design. We would’ve loved more alone time, opportunity to buy a glass after the tasting (the pace was slow and conversational/ didn’t lend itself to additional drinks), and more wineries! But the tour was lovely and the guide was very knowledgeable. We enjoyed it quite a bit.
icon Response from Host , Jul 2022
All in all it sounded like a good day in wine country. Good wine, good people, good food. My recommendation if you want to move at your own pace and not have so much of the socializing aspect we offer private tours. That way it's all about your day.. your way. Maybe next time. But thanks for taking your tour with us and thanks for the review, we really appreciate it. Enjoy the rest of your summer.

Tour for All Senses

Our winery tour guide, Wayne Oppenheimer, is a fountain of wine-making and Willamette Valley vineyard history, giving us the opportunity of a lifetime in an attentive and fun style. We started our day with a quick stop at Red Berry Barn, enjoying fresh apple cider donuts and the flower baskets all around. The views from all three wineries were spectacular, though the 2022 unseasonably cool April-May weather prevented us from seeing grapes on the vine. So many gorgeous sights. Each winery offered 5 or more wines to sample. In our group of 9, we each found more than one favorite. Wayne surprised us by adding in a stop at Durant Olive Tasting Room as we finished early at one winery. This beautiful spot was a delicious delight! So grateful for the added tasting experience. We had fresh-from-the-oven bread to add to our olive oil tasting pleasure. Lunch included a variety of delicious finger foods. My suggestion would be to add some low-sodium items, and provide more protein. My daughter, our friends, all from out-of-state, and I thoroughly enjoyed this scenic tasting adventure, and highly recommend the Wayne's Willamette Valley Wine Tour.

WOW, what a very nice and detailed review. Wayne will appreciate all of your comments. There is so much to see and do in this region, glad he could squeeze in a couple extra stops for you and your group. Thank you for the review and recommendations for the lunch options too, all feedback is welcome. If you ever make it out this way again please give us a call and we iwll plan another great day for you. Cheers!

Wayne was a fun driver and provided three wineries that were all great in their own way. He provided our group with a nice lunch which we ate at the second winery. Also, he plays great rock and roll music on the bus. My husband and I had a great time.

We learned more about wine and the Portland wine country on this trip than anywhere else. Camille was phenomenal and made the wine tasting very personal. I would definitely recommend this to anyone to enjoy the areas outside downtown Portland as well as phenomenal wine.

We had three wonderful tastings at very small wineries. The winemakers told us all about winemaking and then we tasted 5 wines at each winery. A healthy lunch was served by Kevin who drove us

The best wine tour in Oregon!
Angela_L
, Mar 2022
Camille picked us up at our hotel and drove us out to wine country. She had a wealth of knowledge about all things wine and the incredible AVAs here in Oregon. She also had connections with many wine makers and other people in the wine industry. She shared a ton of interesting information throughout the day. She also balanced leaving us to ourselves with sitting with us at the venues. She provided a fabulous lunch with an amazing quantity of quality items. Camille arranged for us to visit three wineries. Hyland. Roots. Trisaetum. All were beautiful and produced excellent wines. We had lunch at Roots where we had the opportunity to visit with the owner who was lovely and had many interesting stories— some wine related and some not! We had a great time. This was our 5th wine tour in this area and Camille gave us our best trip yet! Thank you Camille!

Thank you so much, I had a great time with you guys as well. And Happy Anniversary. We're always happy to hear our efforts are appreciated. Like I say quite often, people like you two make our job fun. If you make it out here again next year I will take you to 3 new wineries. There's so many to choose from... Sincerely I thank you for such a nice review and hope to see you again. Cheers... and enjoy the rest of your summer.

The Best Wine Tour that I Have Been On..and I live in NAPA, CA.

Wayne, what an amazing day! I wanted to stay away from the busy touristy places. Wayne took us to 4 beautiful and private vineyards in the hills above the valley. We spent the day being greeted by vineyard managers and tasting wines with actual wine makers, and the lunch was amazing.
icon Response from Host , Apr 2022
That's how we roll, if someone requests big, busy, fancy wineries we have a few we can visit but our specialty truly is the smaller producers where you may even get to hang with the winemaker. So Glad you enjoyed your day in "The Other" Wine Region. P.S. we love us some Napa Valley wine too Maybe we could go out with you guys in Napa sometime. Cheers!

Wine and History in the Willamette Valley
pwyner
, Nov 2021
Camille was extremely knowledgeable, personable and punctual. She took us to three excellent vineyards that we probably would not have visited on our own. She regaled us with stories that went beyond the surface and dug into the history of both the region and the vineculture. Lunch was fantastic, featuring homemade hummus and a great selection of meats and cheeses.l, finished with home made chocolate chip cookies. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in learning about the history of winemaking in the Willamette Valley and tasting some fantastic Oregon wines.
icon Response from Host , Nov 2021
Thank you so much, you and Katie were a lot of fun to hang out with. and thank you for being accommodating to Vivian too. All 3 wineries were great but I think our last stop with Rob at Haakon Lenai was a rare wine experience even for me. I appreciate the review and really hope you guys can make it out here again some day. We'll go to 3 more great wineries.. because remember.. "I know a place.. I'll take you there".
