Cruise past Oslo’s beautiful National Theatre and the grand parliament building of Karl Johan’s gate, and then weave your way down ancient alleyways to Aker Brygge, an old shipyard that affords visitors wonderful views of the harbor. 

Travel onward at a leisurely pace through neoclassical neighborhoods replete with 18th-century houses adorned with vibrantly painted facades. Stop for a refreshing drink at Akershus Castle (own expense), a magnificent Renaissance fortress, and then glide past the Royal Palace to absorb the imperial majesty of the Norwegian royal family’s regal residence. 

Capture photographs of iconic venue, Oslo City Hall, the place in which the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony occurs, and then enjoy some leisurely free time to explore the verdant expanse of Frognerparken, an open-air exhibition of bronze and granite sculptures by acclaimed Norwegian sculptor, Gustav Vigeland.

Pretty small group (7 of us) led by the friendly Niamh. Went around the city seeing a number of the typical tourist sites - highlight for me was the sculpture park. The level of cycling was such that anyone can do it - short distances between attractions so plenty of stops, and not many hills. After the tour Niamh gave us some recommendations on bars, which was appreciated. I’ve always enjoyed cycling round a new city and this was no exception.

We had only 1 afternoon in Oslo so we booked this bike tour. Our lovely guide led us on the bike from the Viking bike shop downtown through the streets of Oslo. We visited all the important landmarks of Oslo including the old jail, the royal palace, the Vigeland Park, the National Thearter, the Nobel Peace Building, the pier. It really was the best way to see the city in just a short time (3 hours). It’s fun and safe to ride in Oslo. People walk, ride bike or scooters all over the city. Our guide was really nice, funny and knowledgeable. I apologize for not remember her name :( I really recommend this tour.

Bicycle ride was the perfect length...

Bicycle ride was the perfect length and group size of 12 was manageable. Our guide tried very hard to be patient with our bicycle skills traveling with my 3 boys ages 7, 9 and 15 as my younger children were initially nervous bicycling in a city and were so careful we slowed the whole group down. Oslo, by the way, is a very safe city to bicycle - very polite drivers who yield for pedestrians and cyclists. This is a great way to see the city as it gives a terrific overview and feeling for the city. Stops included Vigeland sculpture garden and the Royal palace as well as the Promenade and Fortress among others. Huge thumbs up from my kids who certainly preferred this over a walking tour!

We were given good bikes (with baskets on back), and our tour leader - can’t recall her name, but she was excellent, explained the bikes, the street cycling etiquette, (basically none, you can go anywhere) and took us on a 3 hour journey which included many highlights. The sculpture park was amazing, the back streets of the more affluent residents of Oslo was great too. Nothing too strenuous.

My 5 star rating partially based upon the price paid: 5 Exceeded expectations 4 Met expectations 3 Did not meet expectations but still would have engaged with the vendor 2 Would not have engaged with the vendor but wouldnt dissuade others from doing so 1 Would not have engaged with the vendor and would not recommend others doing so either PROS Josh I believe that was name, young man from Florida was a hoot - definitely know his story of Oslo and told it with humor Small group so it was very conversational Not a bad ride - with a little exertion but OK for novice bike riders Got to see some of Oslo that we would not have otherwise probably seen CONS None

Great way to see all of Oslo in a limited time. Fortunate to have weather without rain for the 2-5pm bike ride. Guide quite knowledgeable although could have been better. Having said that I would definitely do it again. Beware amateur cyclists and the not so fit that Oslo is not completely flat. Some parts are hilly so requires a certain level of fitness and ability to change gears. Also, other cyclists don't give way so you just have to watch out for each other whilst trraversing the city on tramlines, cobblestones busy streets, etc. Glad I partook in this tour.
