Get a sense of the incredible diversity of sights on Oahu during this full-day circle tour by coach, exploring a variety of the island’s natural and cultural attractions. If you’re looking for an opportunity to get an overview of all this Hawaiian Island has to offer, or want to cover a lot of ground in a short period of time, this excursion is a great option.

Start your trip with pickup from your Waikiki hotel in the morning, and head for Diamond Head a 350-acre (142-hectare) crater was left behind by a now-extinct volcano many millions of years ago. If time allows Stop at the Amelia Earhart Lookout to take in some great views of the surfers down on the beach below. The lookout is named for the iconic female aviator who completed the first successful solo flight from Honolulu to California in 1935.

Continue to Hanauma Bay, a marine nature reserve known for great snorkeling and for crystal-clear waters. From there, proceed to the Halona Blowhole, a rock formation on the coast that forces ocean swells through a narrow opening, creating impressive explosion-like sprays of water.

Drive next into the hills of Oahu heading to Nu’uanu Pali, an overlook offering panoramic vistas of both Kanehoe and Kailua Bay. Your next stop is at Byodo-In Temple, a re-creation of 950-year-old Buddhist Temple found in Uji, Japan. Wander among the complex’s intricate temple buildings and glistening nine-foot (tree meter) tall gold Buddha statue, all set among the beautiful foothills of the Ko’olau Mountains.

Proceed next toward Oahu’s North Shore, admiring scenic views of Mokoli’l Island (Chinaman’s Hat) and Kahana Bay as you drive. Stop in Waimea Valley surrounded by verdant greenery for a picnic-style lunch, a roundtrip tram ride to the waterfall at the top to swim (weather-permitting). Waimea Valley is brimming with history as Hawaiian kahuna or priests dwelled here because of the idyllic setting and bountiful land for agriculture. Cruise by the beaches of the North Shore, including Sunset Beach and Waimea Bay, known worldwide since the 1960s as the epicenter of big-wave surfing culture. The beach is sure to be chock-full of big-wave riders during the winter months, when strong swells hit this stretch of coast.

Turn away from the coast back to Oahu’s interior, heading to the Dole Plantation that lies at its center. Make a short stop to check out the plantation’s brilliant-green gardens and browse its gift shop. Finish the day with a drop-off back at your hotel.

Beautiful way to see the main points of the island. We had a very good tour guide and driver!!!! Friendly people all around and I learned much about the island today.
This experience was nothing compared to the 1st circle island tour I went on

Waimea bay was the best part of this tour. I have been on these tours before and we stopped at several other locations. It was too much time on the bus.

The four stops were okay. Although the stop at the Dole Plantation could be swapped for a stop at the Ho’omaluhia Botanical Gardens. Lunch could be better but I know this was a new option.

Waimea and our driver Kaleo. The Dole Pineapple stop should be longer, not enough time to do much. We couldn’t even take in the entire shop. We had a great time though and would definitely recommend
Great experience

Great tour! This is a highlights tour so be prepared for short times at each location but you cover the whole island in one day.

Very Mellow. 🤙
, Aug 2021
Us: Young active couple in late 20s/early 30s. Locations (2/5): Better suited for older or less active people who are looking for a very chill experience at very touristy locations. The included stops were pretty short (20 minutes usually, longest was 2 hours for lunch and Waimea). We passed by a lot of locations that looked more fun to explore. Driver (4/5): Fun, knowledgeable, nice, and very safe on the road. Downside was extremely low enforcement of COVID precautions. At least 1/3 of the bus either weren’t wearing a mask or not wearing their mask properly. Driver mentioned one time that everyone should wear their masks properly in passing, but didn’t wear one himself. Understandably, he wanted to make sure we could hear him clearly when he was giving us information, but it seems like he could’ve just worn the mask since he was using a microphone and we would’ve heard him fine. Value for Money (2/5): As a young and active couple, we didn’t feel this was worth the money as the locations were a lot more touristy than we expected. The stop durations didn’t allow enough time to explore (i.e. Dole trolley and maze wasn’t accessible due to time constraint - if we’re at a touristy spot, might as well indulge in the touristy activity) and the lookouts weren’t anything that special (Halona Blowhole was extremely underwhelming - the mini beach to the right of it would’ve been fun to jump in and hang out at instead). Waimea Falls ($20 general admission - included on this tour) was the most unnaturally natural pool with a mandatory life vest precaution if you wanted to jump in and enough people around that it’s basically a small community pool. Just not a great feel if you’re looking for something off the beaten path. Overall (2.5/5): Again, very important that you know this review is coming from a younger and active couple. The highlights were interesting fun facts from the driver and the free coffee/macadamia nut samples at the Macadamia Store. Biggest downsides were lack in COVID precaution enforcements, short pit stops, and lack of tour creativity (i.e. all curated stops, nothing breathtaking).
