“Wow” Amazing Tour
Janice_W
, Jun 2022
This tour is very memorable because we are celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary. The tour guides and the driver were very nice. They were very knowledgeable and we learned many things about the history of every place we’ve been. They were also very accommodating whenever we have question and inquiries. We supposed to leave NYC at 6:30 am but we left 7:40 am already. It was kinda unorganized when they were checking our documents because everyone wants to go first. It would have been better if they asked us to fall in line and they check the senior’s and person with disability’s documents first. Then not everyone in the bus wearing mask. There are tourists there who are coughing throughout the travel inside the bus and they only wear mask in Canada immigration because it is required. So we are hoping we didnt get the the virus even though it was not covid. So nice also because every 2 1/2 hours we stopped to stretch out, go to restrooms and eat. The hotel we stayed at Canada was nice and clean. I also enjoyed the breakfast. Most of the time we were in the bus because it was 7 1/2 hours travel (one way) but overall this tour was very fun. The niagara falls was so spectacular. It was really a “wow”. I would recommend this tour to my friends and family.

Niagara Falls is great....

Niagara Falls is great. Heavenly. The hotel stay was very close to Niagra and a 2-day trip is definitely recommended. Maid of the Mist is must do. Night view of Niagra is a must-do. Well planned trip and had all the elements at the right time. But the guides were not fun and did not make the trip enjoyable. Felt more like a school excursion trip.

It was my third time to the Niagara Falkd but it was still so enjoyable. The long road trip was made enjoyable with just the right number of stops to break the monotony and stretch our legs. I’m glad we decided to stay one night at the Niagara Falls as anything less will be too short as with my previous trips.

I had a good time on this one! There's an option to stay on the America side, or catch the views from Canada. I would suggest Canada as it definitely has better views and lots of entertainment including several shops, casinos and a ferris wheel. (at least from the pictures I saw from others who went there, I was on the American side, and although there were a lot of viewpoints, it was quite crowded and hard to get a spot during 'prime time' of the lights and fireworks show. Though most of all I would like to thank our guides Brian and Etleva - - Brian is multitalented and kept the whole bus entertained with humor, wit, stories and song, and conversation with everyone, making us feel included. - Etleva was very sweet. I wanted to check out an attraction which was some distance away, and since I was alone, she gladly accompanied me. She made sure I was comfortable and having fun throughout the journey. - Our driver Carlito who helped with the luggage and got us back 45 mins earlier. Ride was smooth and comfortable. Thanks all!

An experience not to be missed
Penelope_W

Brian our tour guide was nothing short of amazing. He constantly checked in with each one of us and told such interesting stories about the history of the places. The tour itself was well thought out and gave us ample time at each stop. If you have to get a visa to go to the Canada side, I think it’s worth it. You are next to the horseshoe falls and the view is incredible. You can also see the American Falls, when it’s all lit up at night. As an unexpected bonus there were fireworks in the evening at 10pm over the falls. We were just lucky to be there then. There were lots of restaurants, fast food options, gift shops and experiences such as the Ferris wheel, on the Ontario side of the falls. I heard there are far less options on the US side. After the Maid of the Mist ride, do not toss your poncho immediately as there’s a spot where you can climb up on the side of the waterfall and you will need it for that if you want to do that. There were plenty of food options (both cold and hot) at where we stopped for lunch. It has been a good trip and I’m glad I did it.

Disappointed by missing information
Marco_G
, Dec 2021
Driver and guide were amazing as well as the itinerary. What we were not satisfied is that Viator in the confirmation mail and web link to download the ticket didn’t mentioned at all the requirement to do a PCR test to cross the boarder and go to Canada to see Niagara Falls from there. Why in the confirmation is Not mentioned anywhere? PCR test in Niagara costs more than 200$, while in NY are free. Just knowing that would solve the problem.
icon Response from Host , Dec 2021
Thank you for your review and feedback, we are happy to hear that you liked the driver, guide, and enjoyed the itinerary. Unfortunately you did not see the information available on the tour page that states the following: All passengers are required to have proper identification when entering or leaving the United States. For entry to Canada, it is the passenger’s responsibility to make sure in advance that visa requirements are met Passengers without the proper travel documents to cross and enter Canada can still join this tour. In such event, the passenger will remain at the hotel on the United States side of the Falls and will not join any part of the tour that will take place in the Canadian territory. You will be able to join the boat ride on the Maid of the Mist as this departs from the American side of the Falls. You will get to see the American Falls and the Canadian Falls from the boat. During the winter months, when the Maid of the Mist is not operating, you will be able to walk to the Falls on your own. There are no substitute attractions on the America side of the Falls. Outlet shopping is located on the American side and does not require a Canadian visa or passport Valid US passport or Passport + valid visa – Crossing is available to those who meet the following requirements- Proof of FULL covid vaccination minimum of 14 days prior to departure date. - Negative PCR test results – test must have been taken WITHIN 72 HOURS OF ARRIVAL TO THE CANADIAN BORDER. (Tests will be checked at the Canadian border, any travelers whose results “expire” prior to arrival at the border will be denied entry to Canada by Canadian border officials) - For planning purposes please anticipate an 8pm border crossing time and ensure that your test will be valid for that time on your date of departure. Download ArriveCAN app to your mobile device Upon arrival to your tour in New York City the tour escort will verify that all necessary paperwork for the Canadian border crossing is valid and within compliance. Anyone who is not in compliance prior to tour departure will enjoy the American side itinerary, no changes can be made once the tour has departed. PCR tests that arrive AFTER TOUR DEPARTURE will not be accepted and will not change the individual traveler’s itinerary for the tour. Viator mis-represents tour description
Bradley_H
, Nov 2021
The description on Viator site states the tour goes into Canada to view the falls from across the border. As long as you have covid vax card, negative pcr test and passport you will be able to croos the border and stay overnight in Toronto hotel. This is a lie! We paid $300 for wife and I to have rapid PCR test to qualify for continuing with tour group into Toronto. The tour group does not do that. Viator owes us something.
icon Response from Host , Nov 2021
Hi Bradley Thank you for traveling with us on October 28th. The tour that you booked is Niagara Falls and Tannersville outlet shopping, it does not include Toronto anywhere on the itinerary. On the first day of the tour the guide made an announcement requesting all travelers who wish to cross to Canadian side to identify themselves so that we could verify the paperwork. You did not notify the guide of your paperwork or desire to cross until the next morning, after that portion of the itinerary was already over. Unfortunately, you didn’t notify us of your desire to cross, if you had, we would have accommodated you as per our itinerary on Viator. We do hope that despite your confusion, you did enjoy the rest of this spectacular itinerary.

AVOID AT ALL COST!!!
C_C
, Oct 2021
Do not take this tour at all cost!!! This tour is a scam!!! On top of that, I tried to reach out to tour operator, but there were no responses. They say all the nice things about seeing the falls from Canada on the website. But the truth is, the guide showed up with no PCR test result to be able to cross the border, meaning whoever wants to go to Canada is on their own. The guide straight up said that when I asked about Canada. Are you kidding me? A little notice on the ad on the website would be nice. No? The only reason I booked this tour is because it has Canada on the itinerary. Otherwise, I would have booked other tours with the same service, same itinerary but only cost $150. Where did my $200 go? Guys, do yourself a favor, book other Niagara Falls tour for less than half the price of this tour and save you some dollars to go shopping.

Dear Customer, Thank you for bringing this to our attention, nothing in this review matches our internal records. We would like to verify this, but you have not provided your information. A good option to Niagara Falls from NYC
Naoko_Y
, Jul 2021
Our group was the only tourists at that time so we went all the way by car not bus. That was great for me as I had 2 toddlers, but would be bad for someone who gets car sick easily. The tour manager was experienced , very considerate and flexible enough to modify plans according to the weather (the Hurricane Elsa was approaching to east coast). The strength of this tour is that we have several chances over 2 days to see the falls even if the weather is not great. The falls view was so spectacular. The weakness is meals which we could get on the way. We had junk foods and deli from supermarkets. There was no microwave in our room at the hotel. So my little kids had to drink cold milk. The Made of the Mist tour doesn’t charge under 5 years old, however, this tour price includes the cost for that for over 3 years old ($350 per person over 3 years old). Where did the change go? I would skip going to the outlet mall if that is our option.

It was worth it- Bus trip with frequent bathroom/sightseeing stops helped tremendously with my 6 & 7 year old- my 14, 15, and 16 year old loved it!! Lot of history in between!! Grandma did wonderful walking!! Totally recommend!! Brian our tour guide was amazing!!!
