Return Details

Returns to original departure point
Choose a morning or afternoon pickup from the French Quarter and climb aboard your coach for the ride deep into Cajun country. Watch the changing scenery as the cityscape transitions into expansive wetlands. You coach delivers you to the launch point across the Mississippi River, where you’ll transfer to an open‐sided, covered boat and set off on the fun and educational ride.

Your native guide will take you on a wildlife‐spotting expedition through this legendary Louisiana terrain. Glide along the water, viewing the lush greenery and abundant local wildlife, including nesting alligators, egrets, raccoons, snakes, and giant nutria. Some wildlife are more easily spotted during the warmer months of the year.  Get great photos and learn about the history and mystery of the swamps, including the culture and ingenuity of the Cajun people who have populated this region for almost 250 years. Your guides will share stories about Cajun music, bayou lifestyle, and culinary traditions — like the creation of Louisiana’s signature gumbo, as well as information about the region’s passionate efforts to preserve the wetlands.

Your coach returns to the French Quarter by mid‐afternoon or evening.

This was my first swamp tour and it was awesome. Our guide was knowledgeable and explained so much about alligators and the bayou. Seeing him feed them marshmallows was exciting and taking a picture holding the baby alligator was the icing on the cake. We would definitely recommend this tour

Our bus driver Trevor was very courteous and helpful. When we arrived at the docks, our boat guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. As soon as we turned into the bayous we saw alligators. We were able to see many different alligators, different birds including passing by a beautiful Great Blue Heron. The Bayous themselves were very beautiful. My gils were super excited to hold the baby gator!

Great way to experience the Bayou and Swamp. Pictures really don’t do it justice. The trees in the swamp were beautiful. We saw a lot of alligators and other wildlife. Our bus ride to the swamp tour was very informative. Our driver Alton was incredibly knowledgeable and gave us a ton of information and history. He was excellent. Take the tour, you will enjoy it!

We learned a lot about the swamp life. The guy was very informative. However he does have a deep ascent so somethings were hard to understand. Sometimes it was hard to see since everyone was crowd around him when he summon for the gators. But we were able to understand and see enough and even hold a gator so over all the experience was great.
