Departure Time

9:00 AM
After pickup from your central Istanbul hotel, travel to the portside at Kabataş for your full-day cruise. Step onto your sightseeing boat and after a safety briefing, find a spot on deck. Then, soak up the views as you sail north along the Bosphorus Strait, the stretch of water that divides Asia and Europe.

Enjoy the complimentary onboard snacks and beverages, and take snaps of the passing mosques and landmarks as you cruise to your first stop of Ortaköy.

Set on Istanbul’s European shores, this picturesque district of neo-baroque buildings and cobbled lanes is filled with arty shops, galleries, markets and cafes. Enjoy free time to stroll, and then return to your boat and cross the Bosphorus to Istanbul’s Asian banks.

Here, enjoy a guided tour of the Küçüksu Palace, an Ottoman-era imperial hunting lodge built in the 1800s. Small enough to fall below the tourist radar, this ornate residence is more than opulent enough to entrance visitors. Behold the rooms adorned with gold, marble and crystal, and hear how the sultans relaxed here after hunting expeditions.

Cruise back over the water and pay a visit to Rumeli Hisari Fortress, once used to control traffic on the Bosphorus. See the ramparts and towers with your guide, and then enjoy lunch back on deck on your boat.

The menu may vary, but expect dishes such as grilled chicken and meze accompanied by sodas, with other drinks (own expense) available from the bar.

After lunch, cruise further up the Bosphorus and into the Black Sea. Take in the views and dock at Poyrazköy, a pretty village nestled between wooded hills and lined by a sandy bay.

Get free time to use as you wish, perhaps to swim in the sea or take a seaside stroll. If you wish to swim, remember to bring your bathing suit and towel!  If the weather isn’t conducive to swimming, dock at Anadolu Kavağı instead, and enjoy time to visit its ruined hilltop castle.

Afterward, cruise back to Kabataş and finish your tour in the early evening with a hotel drop-off.

Please note: Küçüksu Palace is closed on Mondays and Thursdays, and Rumeli Fortress is closed on Wednesdays. On these days, your visits will be substituted by a visit to the Maiden’s Tower, a medieval island tower that starred in the James Bond movie The World is Not Enough.

Great Guide, Cruise and surprise suprise Lunch!

They picked us up at our old Town hotel and we started our full day cruise. It was actually two half days with additional guests onboard for lunch and cruise to Black Sea. The morning cruise was great we stopped at Maidens island, a mosque and a hunting lodge of the Ottomans. I forgot the name of our guide but he was incredibility knowledgeable of history, geographic and plate tectonics. A real treat. The big surprise for me was lunch. We did not expect a good lunch but it was in fact very good! Well worth the time!

Bosphorus Strait and Black Sea Cruise

I think that likely the quality of the tour is guide-dependent. I found ours distracted and eager to send us off on our own at stops, or to his favourite shop owners. Another tour joined us in the afternoon and the explanations along the river were identical to what we had heard in the morning. At the end of the tour we were to be transported back to our hotels and our guide just disappeared leaving the task to one of young colleagues.

WARNING - DON’T EVER USE THIS TRIP

Even though the tour guide was really very good, it is the only positive thing I am able to say about the whole experience. We were promised snacks, soft drinks and a lunch, there were no snacks, only pieces of dry bread and lukewarm ice tea 3 hours after boarding the boat. No water, no soft drinks and no beers to buy even! Later, at 1.30 we were served a small plate of quite tasty little morsels, and that was lunch!!! At least we were able to buy beer at 25 tl, but the white wine was undrinkable. Please do not waste your money - this is not worth a quarter of what we paid for the day. I wish the tour guide would find another company to work for, because he is really the only good thing about the trip. What I don’t understand is the reviews I read on this site giving 4 or 5 stars for the food????

Good way to experience the Bosphorus

The tour included several stops. The most interesting for me was the Rumeli Fortress is I wish we had had a bit more time there. Ortaköy mosque was also interesting. The small town of Anadolu Kavagi was full of restaurants but we had just eaten at n the boat so the stop was a bit pointless because there was nothing to do and lots of hassle from the restaurants. Also I thought the final stop was a Black Sea beach but instead the boat anchored offshore and we had to jump in from the boat. This was disappointing. However the staff were all very friendly and the guide was excellent. The journey back to Istanbul was very relaxing and enjoyable. Alcohol is available at 25 lire for a beer or wine.

Great tour!

Compared to other tour agencies we experienced in Istanbul, this one was by far the best. Not only was the tour guide very nice and well prepared (Aslan), the tour's program was very well conceived, allowing us to profit the most of every visit and also to relax on the boat and even swim in the Bosphorus. The food was also quite good and well nourishing and we had the possibility to buy beers and wine. The only negative point was the return trip to our hotel: even though it was the closest to the gathering point in Beksitas (our hotel was in Taksim), for some reason they passed by it without noticing, to a point that we would have to wait for everybody else to be dropped (mostly people in Sultanahmet) and then get back to Taksim to drop us last, what would have taken more than 1 hours with Istanbul's horrible traffic. Because of that, we decided to be dropped half way and we walked back to our hotel, which was not an extremely long walk but since my fiancé really had to go to the bathroom, it wasn't the most pleasant one... Anyways, that was just a minor inconvenience. Other than that, everything was perfect!

Long but super fun day

The day promises to be a long one. We departed our hotel at 0900 and returned at 1830 (hotel pickup and drop off by tour shuttle). Our tour guide, Aslan, was absolutely amazing. He shares his knowledge of Turkish culture and history with great enthusiasm. We made four stops (2 Asian and 2 European). At each of the stops you get some free time (30-45min) to self-explore a little after the guide has given you an orientation to the site. We also Had about 45 minutes to swim at the mouth of the Bosphorus Straits right at the Black Sea inlet. This is an absolute highlight, especially on a warm/hot Summer day. Food and snacks throughout the day. Overall, well worth the cost...and while the whole day was spent with this activity, it went by rather quickly.
