Not the Highlands, but Wonderful Nonetheless
Scott_A

Such a wonderful day exploring the Scottish lowlands with our fantastic guide, Jaime. That said, when we booked the tour we understood it to include travel into the Highlands (the name of the company is Highlands Experience!), which it did not. While disappointed with that, what we did see was memorable and fun.
Fabulous Scottish Day trip

Amazing day traveling the Scottish countryside. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable & informative every step of the way. This day long excursion was everything we wanted and could have asked for in a trip. Our tour guide, Michael, explained the history behind our visits to Stirling Castle, Loch Lomond & a whisky distillery as
Well as the stories that us tourists would not have known. We highly recommend this trip .. you will NOT be disappointed.

It was a Poorly managed tour

We had long cherished dream of this loch lomond tour but it was spoiled due to harsh weather as well as inhuman behaviour by the driver cum guide of travel agency named highland experience tours on 8 th june 22. Tour was started in bad weather in the morning from parliament square. Driver had no proper plan assigned by the travel agency. Initially self paid sightseeing tour of glengoyne distellary was completed in a very short period. At another main location of loch lomond , we were allowed for taking lunch only whereas we could not go for loch lomond visit due to shortage of time. Finally, we were kept idle for two hours at stirling castle in the afternoon unnecessarlily due to poor planning. Driver cum guide was very rustic, arrogant and inhuman. Since my wife had limited mobility due to acute knee pain, we had reqursted to allow us to remain and take rest inside van only on stirling castle terrace because of ongoing continuous rain but he closed the door of van leaving us outside in the rains unattended and left for somewhere else for two hours. There was also no place for taking shelter in that harsh weather. After waiting idle there for 2 hours , we returned back at edinburg where we were left near castle on the road. There, we kept waiting for taxi for another one hour in that harsh weather under continuous rain. We were very much depressed due to ill behaviour of van driver of the agency. Our tour pleasure was entirely spoiled by poor plan and arrogant and inhuman behaviour of driver.
We would never recommend this tour agency highland expereince tour and also request viator to remove such agencies from their listing to save genuine customers from harassment.

Great day out in Scotland

This tour has something for everyone. A fantastic castle with beautiful views of Scotland, a cute village for lunch, stunning scenery with Loch Lomond and a really interesting tour of whisky making and tasting. All brought together by our tour guide (Josh) with his great humor, interesting stories and smatterings of history and “useless facts” that could win you a pub quiz :)
Great tour, but squashy bus
Laura_M
, Apr 2019
We really enjoyed seeing these interesting places. Tour guide was knowledgable and friendly. It’s a long day but well worth it. The only negative is we got rubbish seats on the bus. We arrived 20 minutes before tour left and were last of 16 people to board the bus. Which meant we had to sit at the back of the bus in a row of four which was a serious squash and meant we were all uncomfortable. The seats are child sized. We would definitely book again, but next time arrive an hour early and try to board bus in time to get either single or a pairs seat.

Laughing and learning

Gary, our tour guide, had us laughing the whole way. Very informative as well. The stops were a great mix with the right amount of time at each. Including a lunch stop in a tiny village with great homemade meat pies and sausage rolls, or u could have gone to the pub for lunch there. The lake was beautiful and we did a little hike around then up to a vista point. Stirling Castle was interesting and good to see. The distillery was perfect. A little intro, a couple tastes (if you add it) and a short but interesting tour of the process. Delicious white chocolate tablets in the gift shop. Highly recommend the excursion.

Overall the tour was ok, not not great. Sterling Castle visit was good with enough time.
Couldn't get enough time at Loch Lomond for the usual Cruise through the Loch.
Visit to Distillery was also good.
The guide/driver was quite friendly but should have given more information about the various locations. He missed to give lots of information of major landmarks.

a very interesting day out from Edinburgh , are guide was very good , are first stop was the stunning Stirling castle , where we were given a free tour which was very interesting
after a lunch break we were taken to see loch Lomond
but my highlight of the tour was the Glengoyne distillery tour , it was the first time I had been to a whisky distillery , and was explained how the whisky is made starting from the barley grains, and also learnt the difference between blended and single malt
also got try try some great whisky
I would recommend this tour while in Edinburgh

Our driver Gary was a recent hire and did a great job. The tour was well paced for all participants. I would have preferred a docent or guide in some places but we attached ourselves to a random group. The Glengoy e distillery was a treat, both from the whisky and our hosts. Humor and love of country were evident from everyone.. Highly recommended!

Good trip!
Our guide was very knowledgeable but a little formal maybe??
Stirling Castle was good but the next stop we felt was tacky
We saw a little of Loch Lomond but all too briefly!
The distillery tour was quite good but our guide was new so had to keep
saying I will check that
But the most annoying thing was that we were booked in to a show at 7pm and the bus tour should
have finished at 6pm but the guide allowed us all to look at the Shire Horses when we just di not
have time!
And so our evening was VERY stressed!!!!!
Central pickup. Guide was good- fun...

Your guide Barney was great! He was full of fun facts and kept the drive very interesting. The time spent at each of the stops was the perfect amount. And ending with the very interesting whiskey tour topped off the day perfectly. We found it very refreshing to get out of the City and see the countryside for awhile. Well worth the money!
We perform checks on reviews
You can only submit a review or rating of an experience to Viator if you were the person who made the booking through Viator. Before publication, each review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information for each of the following criteria: who, what, how, and when. If the system detects something that contradicts our publication criteria, the review is not published. When the system detects a problem with a review, it may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site. In some cases, we will also send you an email asking you to validate your review before it is published. All you need to do is click on the link provided in the email. After publication, our team checks each review reported to it as not meeting our publication criteria. Tripadvisor reviews that appear on the Viator site are subject to the same checks and moderation processes as set out above. It is not necessary to have booked an experience through Viator (or Tripadvisor) to submit a review of an experience to the Tripadvisor site.

Sorting, ranking, and search results
Viator wants to make your searches as relevant as possible. That’s why we offer many ways to help you find the right experiences for you.
On some pages, you can select how to sort the results we display and also use filter options to see only those search results that meet your chosen preferences. You’ll see explanations of what those sort options mean when you select them.
You’ll see some experiences with a “Promoted” badge, which means that the operators of those experiences have agreed to pay Viator more to have their experience highlighted.
If you see an Experience Award Winner label, the award is based on average review ratings, share of bookings with a review, and number of bookings through Viator over a 12-month period.
The importance of any one factor over any other in a sort order varies, and the balance is constantly being reviewed and adjusted. We’re always updating our systems and testing new ways to refine and improve your results to make them as relevant as possible to meet your needs.
