Your tour begins at the Highland Explorer Tours office on Edinburgh’s Royal Mile. Here, you’ll board an air-conditioned vehicle destined for the Scotland-England border.

During the ride, your guide offers history-rich commentary regarding Scotland’s past. Upon arrival in Bamburgh, on the Northumberland coast, meander towards the beach for jaw-dropping views of the spectacular Bamburgh Castle. This 5th-century building sits atop a throne of volcanic dolerite.

The next stop is Alnwick Castle, which Harry Potter fans will instantly recognize at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Snap photographs of the castle’s grand exterior before heading inside (admission at your own expense). Explore opulent rooms, learn about the castle’s history, and hear about the filming of Harry Potter and Downtown Abbey.

Finally, travel along the Tweed River to Coldstream, a former Burgh and home to the Coldstream Guards. Learn about this towns turbulent history from your guide, the board the vehicle and unwind on route to your original departure point in Edinburgh.

There were 3 adults in our party. Our tour guide was amazing. He gave us some history along the way and even told us some cool places to visit in the villages. Would very much recommend

Walked into the Harry Potter Movie!

The day trip was the perfect amount of time. The tour guide was trying to tell us the history of Scotland but the microphone wasn't working that well so it was hard to listen to. We spent about two hours at Alnwick Castle which was more than enough time. The on-site film tour was great as well!

The tour was not in Spanish and the driver was drinking soft drinks all the time and driving very fast

We chose this tour because it indicated that it was in Spanish but it was in English and they did not give us an audio guide in Spanish.

Nice but please stop putting air con

Air conditioner during all the way in the bus. I got sick. 18 degrees outside doesn’t need air conditioning. It ruins my stay in Scotland. By the way the trip was very nice.

Very fun to visit a castle featured so prominently in the first Harry Potter movie. Embracing this theme, I joined in on the broomstick flying lessons and had a great time (and flew on a broom; I have the photo to prove it!).

Thanks for your 5-star review! It is wonderful you enjoyed our Alnwick Castle tour. I am sure your friends and family will love seeing your broomstick photo! Hopefully we see you again soon.

Castello di Alnwich unico. Ma ci sono piaciuti molto anche i paseaggi visti durante i tragitti. Apprezzate molto le audioguide in lingua italiana
