A little rushed

Beautiful cathedral, interesting palace, a bit of the viking museum nice lunch. Guide incredibly knowledgeable. This is known as a whistle stop tour and it really is. If you have little time and want to see a lot this is great. Personally I would have preferred to leave the viking museum out and spend a bit more time at the palace but to be fair it delivered exactly what it said.

Grand tour outside Copenhagen

Tour director was very professional. The transport van was very comfortable and clean. We stopped in 4 locations outside Copenhagen. The first stop was for a church in which old Kings & Queens of Denmark was buried. A palace and place of building Viking ships was another two locations. A big castle was the last location. A through information was given and all tickets for these locations were provided by the tour agency. I highly recommend this tour to be in the program of new visitors of Denmark.

Lovely day!

Great day! Our guide was very knowledgeable. It was a wonderful day to learn about the history of Denmark. In lots of detail. I would recommend cutting a little bit off of the time at the first stop at the Cathedral and adding it to the Viking Museum and the Fredericksburg castle. That felt a little rushed.

Bus tour of Copenhagen

The tour guide, Benjie was interesting, funny, entertaining, knowledgeable and informative about the sites on our tour. He added a lot of colorful tidbits of information not commonly known. The transportation was comfortable and the sound system was good so that we all could listen to him tell us about Danish history. He answered any and all questions asked by the participants on the tour. This tour is a must do when visiting Copenhagen. Benjie made it especially good! 😊

Alot to see and do

Highly recommended tour. + Quite interesting places and beautiful nature + Very knowledgeable guide. + Although the tour was long - it was no too stressful and very well scheduled. + Reasonable price given the sites and distances - The only minus was the time allocated for the Frederiksborg Castle - this site requires at least half a day on its own to be fully explored and enjoyed, however you have to do with 2 hours including doing a lunch break.

An Ideal Way to Understand Denmark and How It Fits Into Scandinavian History
MarkG_M
, Jul 2022
Benji's passion for Danish history is equally matched by his interest in how Denmark's past fits into that of the larger Scandinavian picture. His detailed narration includes more than just dates and a list of who did what. His day-long oral story is seasoned with humor and enlivened through human-centric language, which makes the players...the movers and shakers, the lovers and adventurers, the enemies and victors of long ago...all come to life in modern understanding. Forget the hop on/hop off options on offer. Invest your time with Benji and your reward will be a sense that you're an insider to all the drama and grandeur that continues to unfold in this remarkable country and its capital city. Equally important, Hamlet Tours coaches are clean, comfortable, and the chilled water helps quench your thirst after climbing towers and traversing cobblestones at a trot. For lovers of history, both Roskilde cathedral and Kronborg ('Hamlet's castle') are fascinating glimpses into how religious and royal military architecture are informed by pageantry (kings and queens are interred in Roskilde's chapels and crypts) and geography (Sweden is a mere two miles across the Øresund from Helsingør). On the other hand, if royal history and sumptuous interiors are your bailiwick, Frederiksborg is your chance to be a king or queen for a few hours. The video at the maritime museum is a must. It gives immediate context to all the marine-inspired and dragon-related tchotchkes on offer in the nation's souvenir shops. The only change we'd make to our day is skipping lunch and grabbing just a mini-can of Pringles to dampen our appetite and spending more time in the Frederiksborg castle. That said, Café Valentin in Hillerød (wisely recommended by Benji) is warm and cozy, the service is speedy, and the food is great. Book now and roll with Benji!

Educational and fun

This was a wonderful experience to see all these sites in one day. Great that the tour guide did a lot of the education on the bus as he was driving - and pointing out interesting sites as we passed them. I wish we had 30 more minutes at the Frederiksborg Castle/lunch stop and 15 more minutes at the Viking Museum. Maybe if we started 30 minutes earlier? All in all, a great experience.

The knowledge of the guide and the amount we learned about Copenhagen. We were treated with wit and an intimate understanding of its history and character.
