Grand Day Trip around Copenhagen

Highly recommended tour. + Quite interesting places and beautiful nature + Very knowledgeable guide. + Although the tour was long - it was no too stressful and very well scheduled. + Reasonable price given the sites and distances - The only minus was the time allocated for the Frederiksborg Castle - this site requires at least half a day on its own to be fully explored and enjoyed, however you have to do with 2 hours including doing a lunch break.

Did this tour on 16th July. We visited four memorable sites, best of which was Frederiksborg. Our tour guide Frank was phenomenal and was a constant stream of info.

We had a great time on the trip . Our guide Frank was very knowledgeable and shared lots of interesting information about the places we visited and saw on the way . It’s a convenient way to cover some of the most fascinating spots around Copenhagen in one day.

Learning about Copenhagen and Denmark, loved the Viking Museum, our guide was so friendly and knowledgeable, the City was so beautiful.

For lovers of history, both Roskilde cathedral and Kronborg ('Hamlet's castle') are fascinating glimpses into how religious and royal military architecture are informed by pageantry (kings and queens are interred in Roskilde's chapels and crypts) and geography (Sweden is a mere two miles across the Øresund from Helsingør). On the other hand, if royal history and sumptuous interiors are your bailiwick, Frederiksborg is your chance to be a king or queen for a few hours. The video at the maritime museum is a must. It gives immediate context to all the marine-inspired and dragon-related tchotchkes on offer in the nation's souvenir shops. The only change we'd make to our day is skipping lunch and grabbing just a mini-can of Pringles to dampen our appetite and spending more time in the Frederiksborg castle. That said, Café Valentin in Hillerød (wisely recommended by Benji) is warm and cozy, the service is speedy, and the food is great. Book now and roll with Benji!

This was a wonderful experience to see all these sites in one day. Great that the tour guide did a lot of the education on the bus as he was driving - and pointing out interesting sites as we passed them. I wish we had 30 more minutes at the Frederiksborg Castle/lunch stop and 15 more minutes at the Viking Museum. Maybe if we started 30 minutes earlier? All in all, a great experience.

The knowledge of the guide and the amount we learned about Copenhagen. We were treated with wit and an intimate understanding of its history and character.
