Practical Info

Note that the Marie-Antoinette Estate will begin restoration in 2014, sponsored by the design house Dior. Although it is free to enter the Versailles Gardens on most days (except during fountain shows and other events), the fee to tour the Marie-Antoinette Estate is €10, with a €6 reduced admission for children, students and seniors. It is open whenever the Palace of Versailles is open, but take note of the closing time, as it will take some time to return to the front gates to exit.

Versailles Full-Day Saver Tour: Palace, Gardens, and Estate of Marie Antoinette
Our tour guide for the Versailles Palace was great, his name was Herve. He gave us very detailed information about everything in the palace. He spoke to us in 3 different languages and was super kind. Thanks Herve

Versailles Palace & Marie-Antoinette's Estate Full Day Private Tour from Paris
We spent a full day in Versailles with Fredric as our guide. He picked us up in a Tesla and gave us so much interesting history of Paris and it’s environs as we drove. His knowledge of Versailles, from the big, sweeping historical events to the small fascinating details (Louis XIII invented high heels!) was so informative. He presented options for different stops and was very attentive to our desires to move slowly or speed things up. The experience was worth the price and more. I highly recommend this your.

Versailles Palace & Marie-Antoinette's Estate Private Guided Tour with Lunch
Our amazing guide picked my husband and I up at our hotel, and taught us so much about the history of Paris and France on the way to Versailles. We parked close, and entered quickly through a special door, getting to see lots of things the typical tours do not include. Can’t even begin to describe the opulence of this castle which began with Louis XIV. In the gardens, music was playing and happy people strolled from statues to flowers to water features. Lunch was in an outdoor restaurant, where we were encouraged to order anything on the menu. Afterwards we saw the Grand and Petite Trianon plus the small village. Gorgeous!

Excellent tour. Our guide Fred was extremely knowledgeable and interesting. Would definitely recommend. Significantly better than other tour companies in Paris that we have used recently and would definitely use this tour company again. Wonderful experience. Thank you.

Excellent tour. Our guide Herve was extremely informative and passionate about Versailles and Marie Antoinette. His knowledge of French history was amazing. His kindness and concern about the people who were on the tour was heart warming. We were blessed to have him as our guide, 8 wonderful hours of informative history!

Versailles Full-Day Saver Tour: Palace, Gardens, and Estate of Marie Antoinette
I cannot say enough good things about this tour. If you are lucky enough to get Herve for your tour guide you will be amazed at his knowledge. The palace was overwhelmingly crowded, but Herve made the best of it and kept us moving and was still able to share his knowledge in each of the rooms.

Versailles Palace & Marie-Antoinette's Estate Private Guided Tour with Lunch
Wonderful day in Versailles with Parismatic Tours and our host Francois who was incredibly knowledgeable with Versailles, the history and the estate grounds. Francois even took time to tell us about Paris and some of the sites along the way as we drove to Versailles and back from the hotel pickup. Lunch at La Flottille was also lovely. We did the tour a few days after Christmas and although a little colder but very manageable with a coat - it was nice because it was much quieter than in the summer. The line jumping was well worth it though as it probably took us about 10 min to enter vs. the 2h line that has build up at the general entrance. Thank you Parismatic Tours team for this lovely day and experience.

Versailles Full-Day Saver Tour: Palace, Gardens, and Estate of Marie Antoinette
Is a tour we all need to do when visiting France, must be patience (big crowds) ,is very big lots of walking 18000 steps that day ,there is a little train that takes you to the Antionette Estate not comfortable and goat track is very bumpy (not good for back) , I would not do it with a large group we were 9 and still lost 2 ,but with the right tour guide this would not happen.Yes there is some negative views in my review but to see this place there is no easy way, off season there is still the crowds. Hey just had to cross it off!!!
