Portland, Maine

The Basics

Keep an eye out for birds, seals, and the occasional whale while you hike along the coast, sail through the harbor, or hop on the ferry to visit Casco Bay’s seven accessible islands.

Most bay tours leave from nearby Portland, Maine’s capital city, and sometimes include a city tour along with a coastal sightseeing excursion. You can also opt for a private charter vessel in order to see Casco Bay’s lighthouses and historic forts at your own pace.

Great Trip!

Portland Tall Ship Cruise on Casco Bay
Loved the entire trip. The crew was great, interesting, informative and entertaining. Registration was easy. The only difficulty was finding the location of the ship. Some signs with arrows by the Casco Bay Lines Terminal could have been helpful. But all around a great trip! Looking forward to next time.

Portland Tall Ship Cruise on Casco Bay
Being out on the water on a hot day! My only complaint was the directions were vague and it was not marked well as to where to go.

Portland Tall Ship Cruise on Casco Bay
The cruise around Casco Bay was amazing! Definitely one of those Bucket List things to do! DON'T book through this viator site! I was over-charged by 50 dollars! The cruise tickets were $49 each, not $76

Portland Tall Ship Cruise on Casco Bay
Captain & crew were great. Capt. had a great sense of humor! We got to help with the sails & I didn't go overboard! We had a fun time; and learned a lot about the area.

Perfect Portland sailing adventure!!

Portland Tall Ship Cruise on Casco Bay
A tall boat, the Wendameen, over 100 years old with a very cool history… a beautiful sunny day with mild temps and just enough breeze to keep us moving… views of the lighthouses and rocky cliffs….and the colorful Captain Rob and crew who interacted and answered questions but without the constant narrative. What more could you ask for of a sailing adventure?? We loved it and would highly recommend.

Portland Tall Ship Cruise on Casco Bay
Captain and a crew were super nice and knowledge about all area history. Calm day to sail (as I understand from crew that summer months tend to be). People brought drinks and snacks on board. All looked to have a great time!
