Located in Midtown Manhattan, Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Times Square boasts more than 500 weird and wonderful artifacts, alongside interactive games and brainteasers. Designed to surprise and amaze, the museum (or “odditorium,” as it calls itself) is an entertaining destination for visitors of all ages.
The Basics
Spread over two floors, Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Times Square consists of 20 galleries covering everything from music and movies to fossils and medieval torture. To save money and bypass the entry line, prebook your admission ticket online.
Alternatively, opt for an experience that combines a visit to Ripley’s with a local walking tour or dinner at a nearby family-friendly restaurant. In addition, all the New York City hop-on hop-off bus tours stop in Times Square, just a short walk from Ripley’s.

How to Get There
At 234 West 42nd Street, between 7th and 8th avenues, Ripley’s Believe It or Not! is a quick stroll from Times Square and easy to get to by public transit. The closest subway station is 42nd Street–Times Square; bus lines M6, M7, M10, M16, M20, M27, and M104 also stop in and around Times Square. For drivers, the nearest paid parking garage is at 143 West 40th Street.
When to Get There
Ripley’s Believe It or Not! is open daily year-round: Sunday through Wednesday from 10am to 11pm, and Thursday through Saturday from 10am to 1am. To beat the crowds, get there right after opening or shortly before closing.
Must-Sees at Ripley’s Believe It or Not!
Don’t miss Ripley’s strangest and most gruesome exhibits, from grisly torture implements to the 4-foot-long (1.22-meter-long) fingernails of an 88-year-old man. Other highlights include miniscule pinhead sculptures, a collection of shrunken heads, and the ever-popular black hole spinning tunnel—a rotating vortex that sends your senses into overdrive.
