The Basics

For a firsthand look at biodiversity, head to the Bronx Zoo, where you’ll find more than 4,000 animals and plants. Stroll through the butterfly garden, marvel at the big cats, pet goats and donkeys, or ride the bug carousel.

Spend the whole day at the zoo, or visit as part of a daylong adventure in the Bronx. Culinary tours in the Bronx’s Belmont area typically take you near the zoo, and highlight the neighborhood’s top eateries. And the zoo is just a short walk from Arthur Avenue, the heart of the Bronx’s Little Italy.

The zoo was clean, staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Exhibits were accessible from all routes. Butterfly Garden was beautiful . Signage was sparse when exiting and directions not clear for the multiple entrance points and bus pick up.

The Bronx Zoo regardless of the season is always inviting and full of life. I enjoyed the animals and connects with other families and their children. It is always an amazing experience.

We love the giraffes and the gorillas the most that day!! Disappointed we didn’t get to see the elephants. Couldn’t find the monorail to get there. Everyone is so friendly and the place is beyond clean! Super impressed and felt very safe with all the COVID regulations. Can’t wait to go again!!!!!!

Amazing place! Must see EVERYTHING This thing is asking me to fill the 100 characters. Bronx zoo had nothing to do with the minus -1, but by association, yes. Minus -1 4 stars

I recommend families to come to the Bronx Zoo. It is nice. The staff is friendly and helpful The monorail was amazing, my family love it. We enjoy the trip and we were very happy. I enjoy watching the elephant, the tiger, the zebra. Sad that we couldn’t see the giraffe, because the signs said there’s were outside and the sign didn’t provide directions about where the giraffe was outside, we look and look and couldn’t find it. Lol

Had some delays getting to parking lot due to traffic and one lot full. Zoo was nice but disappointed in how many attractions weren’t available with just general admission.
