The Basics

Parts of the castle are open to visitors, including the State Apartments, Queen Mary's intricate dolls' house, and George VI's private apartments. St. George's Chapel is another highlight, where many royal weddings and funerals have occurred, as well as where the Queen Mother's and King Henry VII's tombs are found. On a guided tour, you can see the Great Kitchen to witness the inner workings of the castle.

Well worth the money a fantastic day out!
Visiting Stonehenge as a holistic therapist I loved the energy that was present there, also the state apartments and St.Georges chapel which was unbelievably beautiful in Windsor. The trip was taken with Reece and Joe with very professional and through guiding and excellent driving.

Windsor Castle, Stonehenge, and Oxford Day Trip from London
Stonehenge was the best, Oxford was a bit boring and nothing much to do there. Not enough time offered for us to explore Windsor Castle slowly.

Our tour operator was Douglas. He was very punctual and so patient, courteous and professional. We had 2 kids and 3 adults. He kept us engaged and educated. All of us, including the 8 and 9 year old. Douglas is very knowledgeable about all of the sites we visited. Stonehenge, Windsor Castle and Bath. He even introduced us to some of the staff on the sites. Douglas was overall outstanding and I highly recommend him.

Douglas was fantastic! He efficiently navigated us through Windsor Castle so we left with very memorable highlights. He took us to Woodhenge before Stonehenge which I had not heard about. We went to Salisbury ilo Bathe. Saw the Magna Carta!! And then had dinner in a pub on the way back. Awesome Day!!

It was fairly good. I like the tour guard and the driver of the coach as they were very receptive. Wasn’t happy as you couldn’t take photos in the inside of Windsor castle

Official Royal Business at Windsor Castle

As an official residence, Windsor Castle hosts Queen Elizabeth for a month at Easter, a week in June, and during most weekends. At Windsor, she also often hosts state dinners for international dignitaries and entertains those she has knighted into the Order of the Garter. When the queen is in residence, you can see the Changing of the Guard (as you do when she is at Buckingham Palace).
